About rarerabbit
Video and Installation artist, Gemma Riggs started experimenting with the tactile delights of cine film during her early days at Wimbledon School of Art. Inspired very much by the heroes of early cinema, she uses film in a fluid and rhythmical way, exploiting the editing process to bring weird and wonderful results.
Thriving off the immediacy of live events Gemma has produced and mixed visuals for artists including Mos Def, DJ Krush, Bonobo and DJ Vadim at London venues such as Koko, Cargo and the Big Chill House.
Gemma works regularly with the Battersea Arts Centre on a range of education projects, that have included a piece within Punchdrunk's 'The Masque of the Red Death'. Her work with the Beatbox Academy has brought her to collaborate with Shlomo, making documentary work for his concert series 'Music Through Unconventional Means'.
